College Prep Electives at Texas Boarding Schools
Public Speaking - This is a senior class that gives the students experience in various types of public speaking. They write, memorize, and deliver several speeches, including a two-minute graduation speech. They have many opportunities for using and perfecting the dynamics of public speaking, including verbal presentation of their research paper.
Vocational Education - This course includes work in the kitchen and on the campus. Most of vocational education is spent either cooking or cleaning. Students prepare all the meals, and they do all the cleaning. The students in the kitchen learn how to prepare meals, manage time, meet deadlines, and use kitchen equipment.
Debate Team - The award-winning team competes successfully against many schools in the National Forensic League (NFL) and Texas Association of Private and Parochial Schools (TAPPS).
